My Story

Although I always appreciated the fascinating, alluring and often strange landscape of a dream, it was never an area that held much interest. Like many, I considered dreams as nothing more than an aberration of the mind and responded to friends who kept a dream diary with a wry smile. Little did I know I was bound for an experience that would initiate me into that very field.

Whilst on retreat in the Catskill Mountains, I had a prophetic dream. It played out in the waking state exactly as I had dreamt it. Every small detail of the location and every interaction with the people unfolded as it had done in the dream. When I spoke to one of the people participating in the retreat who featured in my dream, to my surprise he described having an almost identical dream of his own. So not only was my dream prophetic but it had seemingly crossed over with another's. The bridge this created between my waking and dreaming state was undeniable. Having never had an experience like this before, I shared what had unfolded with someone who lived on site at the centre and he directed me to a man in the local community who worked with dreams by the name of Rand Rothey. When I eventually tracked him down, I arranged to do a session with him. I was so transformed by my experience of working with him that I asked if he would teach me his method and have been practicing his form of dreamwork for the last twenty two years. My dreamwork teacher is now in his eighties and remains my teacher and  friend to this day.

This approach to dreamwork is best suited to those who are already engaged in a process of self enquiry and discovery. For creatives who need to keep their ideas fluid and want to access their greater potential and for facilitators, practitioners and coaches looking to resource themselves in new ways. It is also a way of working well suited to those with a background or interest in non dual philosophy and for those who found that dream interpretation did not answer questions about their dream, or its deeper meaning.

Do not be satisfied by stories,

How things have gone with others,

Unfold your own Myth'.
